What is your cancellation policy?
We’re happy to offer free changes and 100% refund up to 24 hours before tour departure. Failure to cancel a reservation at least 24 hours prior to scheduled departure may result in forfeited travel funds. Fare difference may apply.
Where is the meeting point?
Meet in front of the Rio Othon Palace Hotel, Avenida Atlântica 3264 Copacabana. The closest metro station is Cantagalo.
What are your covid policies, and will I need to wear a mask?
All bikes are sanitized before tours and hand sanitizer will be available. Wearing mask during cycling is not required, but have one with you in case it's needed during stops.
What is your weather policy?
In case of heavy rain, we will reach out to cancel/reschedule, however our tours will still run in light, inclement weather.
Is this tour appropriate for children?
This is a great tour for kids 12 years old and up, and we ask that all minors be accompanied by an adult.
What kind of bikes do you have?
Our bikes are easy to ride Classic Dutch style bikes which are very comfortable.
Do I have to wear a helmet?
We have helmets available, but wearing a helmet is not mandatory here in Rio. All helmets are cleaned after each use.
Do we go inside the museums and monuments?
We cover a lot of ground on this tour and do not enter into any monuments.
How long is the ride?
This tour runs 7 hours and covers about 18.6 miles/30 kilometers with plenty of stops along the way.
Can I leave the tour early?
No, unfortunately it is not possible to leave the tour early. We ask that all participants plan on staying with us until the end.
Do you have electric bikes?
We do not have any pedal assist bikes, but our cruiser bikes are very easy to ride and the majority of the route is fairly flat.
Is there a place to store bags and luggage during the tour?
We are unfortunately not able to store any items while you are on tour and advise you to bring along only what you need.
Is water included or can I purchase some before the tour?
During the ride, there will be several stops when you can buy water. We encourage you to stay hydrated!
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions at lunch??
Yes! Lunch is at a traditional buffet restaurant with options for any dietary restrictions. The cost of your meal plus one drink is included in the tour price.
Will there be a basket on my bike or a way to carry my bag?
We do not have any baskets and suggest having a small backpack for anything you wish to bring with you on tour.
Should I bring cash?
Yes, there will be breaks when you can buy drinks or food along the way.
Is it safe to bike in Rio de Janeiro?
Yes, it is safe to cycle in Rio de Janeiro, especially if you stay on the designated bicycle paths which our tours will make as much use of as possible. The last couple years Rio de Janeiro has been rapidly expanding its network of bike paths and is becoming a more cycling-friendly city.
What should I wear?
We recommend wearing comfortable, light clothes. Since it is usually sunny in Rio, it's a good idea to wear and bring sunblock along. Keep in mind during the summer months, from December until March, it can get very hot. You may want to wear a hat and you should definitely bring a bottle of water along. There will also be stops where you can purchase additional drinks along the way (this is not included in the tour price).
